3.3.1. IDENTIFY URLS TO REDIRECT Take a complete inventory of URLs that require redirection, whether deleted pages, modified URLs or merged pages. Make sure you understand all of the impacted URLs. This can be achieved by conducting a site audit, using analytics tools, reviewing internal and external links, analyzing search data, and collaborating with website stakeholders. We recommend the Screaming Frog audit tool : you can perform a full crawl of your website to spot URLs that need redirecting, such as broken URLs, duplicate URLs, or obsolete URLs. The tool also generates detailed reports that allow you to get a clear overview of problematic URLs and plan your redirects effectively 3.3.2. CHOOSE REDIRECTION TYPE Decide what type of redirect to use.

If you've followed this far, you know that this will generally be a 301 redirect for permanent changes, or a 302 redirect for temporary changes. 3.3.3. DEFINE NEW DESTINATION URLS Identify new destination URLs to which you want to redirect traffic. Make sure these new URLs are correctly configured and accessible. We recommend using permanent URLs (also called canonical URLs) for redirects, as they are Phone Number List  more SEO friendly. Avoid using dynamic URLs, URLs that are too long, or auto-generated URLs, as they can cause SEO and usability issues for users. 3.3.4. SET UP REDIRECTS Depending on the method chosen (server configuration, redirect plugin, manual coding, etc.), follow the specific steps we mentioned above to set up 301 redirects for each URL to redirect to the new destination URL.  



3.3.5. CHECK AND TEST REDIRECTS Once the redirects are in place, review and test them to make sure they work properly . Also check for possible redirect loop errors or other issues. 3.3.6. UPDATE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL LINKS Please update the internal and external links pointing to the old URLs so that they now point to the new destination URLs. We remind you, we do not want 301 redirects coming from your site. You have control over your website so take the time to go and change the links of all the old URLs for the new ones (even if it takes a long time). For internal links , edit links in your page content, in navigation menus, in anchor tags, and anywhere else URLs are used. For external links , contact the webmasters of the sites that link to you and ask them to update the links to the new destination URLs to avoid creating broken links.
